About the Division Superintendent:

Roger Morris received his Doctorate in Education from the University of Virginia in 2002. Prior to that he received his Education Specialist degree from the University of Virginia in 1998 and his Master's of Science in Education in 1990.  Dr. Morris attended and graduated from Virginia Tech receiving his degree in 1998.  It is interesting to note that Dr. Morris worked throughout college and maintained a career and family through his postgraduate work. Throughout his career, Dr. Morris has spent well over twenty years in education serving in school divisions in Virginia in a variety of teaching and administrative capacities.  He and his family have also been active in community, civic, and church activities  in every community that they have lived in.  They strongly believe in the value of service to others and the golden rule.

Dr, Morris is not new to the area.  He spent his entire childhood in the Sherwood Forest area of Bassett, graduating from Bassett High School in 1984.  While in high school he worked at Stanleytown Recreation Center.  He spent a great deal of time in Patrick County as a child visiting relatives, attending football games, and continues to have relatives and friends in the area. Dr. Morris is married to Patricia and they have two children who are students at Patrick County High School.
