The seventh grade students at HRMS participated in a culminating experience on June 3rd at 7:00 pm in the gymnasium. Noted as their "graduation" from elementary school the students marched in to "Pomp and Circumstances" played by Brenda Plaster. Cody King served as the Master of Ceremonies. After a moment of inspiration by Reverand Ed Hartman, Sarah Clark, valedictorian, gave an address on memories of elementary school years. Next, Jansen Clifton, salutatorian, spoke about school memories and challenges for the future. Then the students began receiving various awards and certificates. Among those awards were: 1) Awards in each content area given by the content teachers, 2) DAR Good Citizenship--Sarah Clark, recipient 3) Superintendent's Scholar--Sarah Clark, recipient (She maintained all A's for the entire school year) 4) Presidential Academic Award: 31 students maintained an average of 90 during their elementary school years and received this award. They are: Jonny Altizer, Lauren Brown, Kaitlin Bryant, Sarah Clark, Jansen Clifton, Chris Gilles, Alex Goad, Dylan Harkey, Megan Harris, Adrienne Hutchens, Megan Kendrick, Kaila Kessler, Cody King, Brendon Williams, Chase Martin, Rylee Moore, Sydney Nowlin, Zach Overby, Ana Penn, Britni Pennington, Niki Plaster, Tyler Presnell, Ebony Reynolds, Tiara Reynolds, Sadie Shoemaker, Lauren Smith, Cameron Tatum, Cody Trent, Savanah Wagoner, and Emily Webberson. All sixty five students were presented with a certificate of completion of elementary studies. The faculty and staff, along with Principal, Ann Fulcher wish to thank all of the parents and family members for their encouragement and support this school year. Each student is wished the best as they enter PCHS this August. |
